A rare Nelson Mandela commemorative coin was among the items stolen from a house in Chorley.
Thieves used a closed but unlocked rear door to get inside the house on Carr Lane at around 5.15pm on New Year’s Day, when the occupants were upstairs bathing their children.
They searched the property and stole various items, including the limited edition commemorative coin in a green felt pouch, three laptop computers, a Samsung video camera, a Sony projector and an Armani watch.
Sgt Paul Bamber, from the Chorley burglary team, said: “I urge anyone with any knowledge of who is responsible, or anybody who may know the whereabouts of the property that has been taken, to contact the burglary team at Chorley.
“The Nelson Mandela coin in particular is an unusual item.
“If seen would be easily recognisable.”
