Mayor of Chorley, Coun John Walker, with guests at the ball

The Mayor of Chorley, Coun John Walker, proved he had a heart of gold when he held a charity Valentine’s ball on Friday.

Mayors from around the North West pulled on their gladrags for the event at the Lancastrian Suite at Chorley Town Hall.

They tucked into a gourmet buffet, tried their luck in a tombola and enjoyed music by a Michael Buble and Robbie Williams tribute act.

The night was held to raise money for the Mayor’s chosen charities - Derian House children’s hospice and the Alzheimer’s Society.

He will hope to raise even more funds when he holds a night of comedy and music on Friday, March 28, featuring Dave Spikey, Ted Robbins, Steve Royle and other popular performers.
