A supermarket worker has been suspended following allegations she “smacked” a four-year-old child.
Police were called after the alleged incident at Morrisons, on Brooke Street, Chorley, on Wednesday.
Mum Selina Johnson, from Chorley, posted a message on Morrisons’ Facebook page to complain, saying that her little boy had been “smacked” by a member of staff at the store.
She said the child had “cried his little heart out” and she had called the police, adding: “I will never step foot in one of your stores again.”
The message, which received several replies, has since been removed.
A Morrisons spokesman said: “The member of staff in question has been suspended pending a disciplinary next week.”
Lancashire Constabulary confirmed they had been contacted following the alleged incident.
