Residents can receive information and alerts on their refuse and recycling collections from a new smartphone app.
Launched by Chorley Council, the simple app uses postcodes to give personalised information about bin collections and allows reminders to be set up alerting users the night before they need to leave out their bins.
Free to download, ‘Connect Chorley’ is now available in the Google and Apple app stores.
Councillor Adrian Lowe, who oversees waste collection, said: “It lets you know when your waste and recycling will be collected, which containers to leave out and the types of waste you can leave in each bin. You can choose whether to turn on the alerts and customise them to your needs, view upcoming bank holidays and how they will affect your service and receive live notifications in the event of potential disruption to your collection.”
