Police witness appeal after pub assault

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault at a Chorley town centre pub.

They have issued a CCTV image of a man they need to trace in connection with the vicious attack on another man in Pearson’s.

The 34-year-old victim was assaulted following a disturbance in the Market Street pub.

Police said he was with his sister at the time and was asked to leave the pub when he was then followed and punched in the head several

times by a man causing him to fall to the floor.

PC Stacey Sargent said: “The victim was knocked unconscious and on attending Chorley A&E he was diagnosed with a broken nose and also lost one tooth and broke another.

“This is clearly a serious offence and I’d appeal to anybody that recognises the man pictured in the CCTV to come forward and contact Lancashire Police on 101.”

The offender is described as being white and aged in his 30s.

He is around 5ft 9ins tall and of a large build.

The incident took place on Tuesday, February 26, at around 6.20pm.

People with information can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org.

No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
