Runshaw College is celebrating a record year today, as all students have passed their A-level exams, and more than ever have been offered places at prestigious universities such as Oxford and Cambridge.
The Leyland college has had another successful year as A-level results released this morning show a 100 per cent pass rate, and 80 per cent of grades were classed as ‘high’ at advanced level, from A*-B.
What’s more, one third of all grades are A* or A grades this year.
Principal Simon Partington said: “This is another year of records for Runshaw. We’ve had more offers to Oxford and Cambridge than ever before (19 offers), and more offers for our students to study medicine, dentistry and veterinary practice at university (31 offers).
“We’re also the top performing college in the whole country for vocational qualifications, with an average grade of triple distinction star, and we’re the second best performing college nationally for our A-level average grade, which is B.
“We are so proud of these figures, and we’re so proud of our students.
“It really is a day of celebration.”
