Schools across Chorley were closed today due to a planned strike by the National Union of Teachers (NUT).

Teachers throughout the country are striking over pay and pension conditions.

Some children have been left with half days due to the strikes, others have been given the day off.

Union leaders said the national walkout was a “last resort”.

Most secondary schools were open for pupils studying their GCSE’s.
