The deadline is fast approaching for a children’s short story competition sponsored by Chorley Community Housing (CCH).

Budding authors only have until 5pm on Tuesday, April 22 to submit their entries and a chance to win £50 in book tokens.

CCH have launched the competition as part of the ‘What’s The Story Chorley?’ event being held in the town on Saturday, April 26.

Entry categories are for three ages of children, seven and under, eight to 11 and 12 to 16 – on the subject of ‘My Magical House’.

CCH Director of Operations Richard Houghton said: ‘With kids off school over Easter we’re hoping that children in Chorley will get their thinking caps on and come up with some magical stories for the competition judges to enjoy.’
