Torrential showers hit Chorley

Heavy rain brought parts of Chorley to a standstill today (Wednesday, July 14).

Torrential showers hit the town at around 3.30pm bringing chaos for pedestrians caught unawares.

Cars crawled along Pall Mall, and other main routes, as the rain beat down before suddenly brightening up minutes later.

In Euxton, flash floods brought traffic to a virtual halt on School Lane and Southport Road during the late afternoon school rush.
