A woman passenger was taken to hospital after the car she was travelling in was involved in a collision in Chorley.

The woman, the wife of the driver of a VW Passat, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be cut free by firefighters.

She complained of neck and lower back pain following the minor accident on Pall Mall at around 5.30pm yesterday.

The Passat collided with a VW Golf at the junction of Rawcliffe Road.

Firefighters from Chorley Fire Station attended

The injured woman was taken to Royal Preston Hospital by ambulance as a precautionary measure, said Lancashire Police.
