A CHORLEY man has praised the efforts of emergency services after falling 12ft onto a slate room and dislocating his shoulder.
The 60-year-old, who has asked not to be named, was painting his house at The Green, in Heath Charnock, on Tuesday evening when disaster struck.
His ladder slipped and he crashed to the ground below.
Recalling the drama the retired victim said: “I was just painting my house. It was tea time and a nice evening.
“The ladder slipped and I knew something was seriously wrong because of the pain I was in.
“On a scale of 1-10, the pain was about an eight.
“A passer-by saw what happened and raised the alarm. It could have been a lot worse.
“The emergency services were there within a few minutes and I’d like to thank the fire bridge, police and ambulance staff.”
