A Chorley man has been jailed for five years for rape.

Nazo Brahenaj, 21, of no fixed address, was also put on the sex offenders’ register for life when he appeared at Preston Crown Court yesterday.

The rape was committed in the early hours of May 19 at Brahenaj’s then home address in Chorley.

DC Ian Marsh, from Lancashire Constabulary’s public protection unit, said: “I am pleased with the guilty verdict and that Brahenaj is now behind bars.

“Thanks to the strength of the victim in giving her evidence, this dangerous man is now off the streets. I hope the victim is now able to move on from this ordeal.”
