McBusted will top the bill on the Saturday of this summer’s Lytham Festival.

The pop-punk supergroup complete the line-up of headliners for the eagerly-awaited extended event, which will this year include four concerts on The Green in a a mouth-watering seven-day programme.

McBusted, an immensely-popular amalgamation of the groups McFly and Busted, play Lytham on August 8 and join dance stars Faithless (Thursday), a host of 80s and 90s stars including Billy Ocean and Sinitta (Friday) and Elaine Paige and Marti Pellow in a show entitled Stars of Stage and Screen (Sunday) as main stage headliners for the 2015 Festival.

But the music by top stars won’t be confined this year to the main stage on The Green.

Additionally, amid a variety of arts-related events all around town, an all-new Festival stage at Lowther Pavilion will host nightly gigs in the early part of the Festival week – and Rae Morris, Rebecca Ferguson, Scouting For Girls and Tenors Of Rock are to headline.

Blackpool singer-songwriter Rae will be at the Pavilion on Sunday, August 2, Tenors of Rock the following evening, Rebecca Ferguson on Tuesday, August 4 and pop-rock trio Scouting for Girls on the Wednesday.

In addition to those shows, the Pavilion stage will host after-party events for those wishing to carry on celebrating once the main stage comes to a close.

Trance music pioneer Chicane will keep the dance floor filled on Thursday, August 6 as the official after party for Faithless, while Blackpool club night and 80s aficionados Adam and Eve will take charge of proceedings on the Friday to provide a follow-on from the 80s v 90s themed show earlier that evening.

Lytham Festival director Peter Taylor said: “This latest announcement is very exciting for Lytham Festival.

“It’s the result of a lot of hard work and planning which is being channelled into the event’s development.

“Lytham Festival still has elements on the Proms as is evident in the A-list headliner we’ve added, McBusted.

“This night at Lytham Green will be soundtracked by hits people know and love and there will be a big party atmosphere.

“However, in Lytham Festival’s new form we have more locations and a wider breadth of artists and the result is yet more opportunities to see even more great music.

“Plus it can only be a good thing that one of these amazing talents, Rae Morris, is one of the Fylde Coast’s very own.

“We’re proud to be bringing her and the other stars to one of Lytham’s landmark venues.”

Promoters Cuffe and Taylor are anticipating that the new-look Festival, which has grown rapidly from a single concert in 2010 to one of the leading annual events in the North West, will attract up to 50,000 visitors and potentially boost the Fylde economy by £2m.

Tickets for the gig by McBusted, whose tour last year was rapidly extended from an initial 11 dates to 34 after tickets sold out within an hour, go on sale on Tuesday at 9am and will be available from www.lythamfestival.com or by calling 0844 888 0200.
