Creative primary school pupils whipped up an eye-catching array of menu designs to impress staff members from a Chorley inn.
Pupils from Coupe Green Primary School, in Hoghton, were invited to design the front cover of The Boat Yard Inn’s new ‘user-friendly’ children’s menu.
Temporary manager Adam Cohen received 27 entries from artistic hopefuls, and was impressed by the overall standard of the applications.
He said: “The applications were really good.
“Considering the age of the kids, they were of a really high standard.”
In order to make the prize presentations as memorable as possible, Adam visited the school, along with newly recruited Boat Yard Inn manager Terry Lumb, to show the pupils some of his theatrical cocktail making skills.
The winning design, which features a boat, was created by Molly, eight, while Tom, six, won second place and Amber , nine, took third place.
All winners received vouchers to spend at The Boat Yard Inn, and Molly’s winning design will front the children’s menu for the next six months.
The menu includes a range of healthy options for smaller appetites, as well as some popular favourites, such as sausage and chips followed by ice cream. All children’s meals are priced at under £5.
