The images show two men pictured in the area at around 8.50pm, who police are keen speak with.

One of the vandals can be seen hurling a petrol bomb at the top window of the club, before it rebounds and hits him.

His clothing is set alight, and the two men quickly run off on to Mayfield Road, out of the camera’s view.

Detective Sergeant John Entwistle from Chorley CID said: “This is the third attack on these premises in recent weeks and I would urge members of the public to come forward if they have any information which could assist with our investigation.

“We suspect that the person responsible will have suffered burns as a result of this incident, specifically on their head and perhaps hands, so I am keen to speak with anybody that has sustained burn injuries since Tuesday, March 13, even if they don’t have any information about the incident itself.

“This is a serious offence which has had a considerable impact on the club and had the potential to endanger life, including that of the offender.”Since hearing about the release of the CCTV footage, a tenant, who wanted to remain unnamed, said: “Let’s hope this works and that the police catch them.

“We’ve not been open since, as have been having repairs done to the window, but we’re opening again tomorrow.

“We’re a bit lighter in the pockets, but everything is back to normal.

“Now let’s put a full stop to it.”

Firefighters were called to the incident after Gordon Pasquill, owner of Pasquill’s Gym, caught the offenders in action.

The man on foot is described as being slim to medium build, 5’10” to 6’0” tall.

He is wearing what appears to be a baseball style jacket, light coloured sleeves with dark front and back panels, with a light waistband. The second man is taller and is seen riding his bike around the area prior to the attack on the club.
