Publicans who have refurbished a Croston pub are taking inspiration from their customers this New Year.
Becky Gleave and Jon Lilley say taking over the Wheatsheaf on Town Road is bringing a fresh new start for the pub, and their family.
The couple have been running the pub since October, and are now reading through the customer feedback cards for more ideas.
Becky said: “The pub has been opened and closed by so many temporary managers over the last year, I think people appreciate that Jon and I are in it for the long haul.
“Customers have suggested we start quiz nights, a ladies night, and tea and coffee mornings, so we’re going to get those up and running soon.
“We’ve already revamped the pub, and we’re had a lot of positive comments.”
The pair met whilst working in a pub together in London, and have moved to Croston to take on two massive challenges – becoming landlord and landlady, and mummy and daddy.
They’ve welcomed 10-month-old son Rowan to the rural life in Croston too.
“Croston is a beautiful place to raise a family,” Becky added. “We’re all living together above the pub, and we’re determined to make this a success.”
