Given all the rain we’ve had recently the aptly-named Noah’s Ark was never in danger of sinking at the weekend.

Noah’s Ark Nursery in Coppull held an open day for parents, including tombola, face painting and a whole set of indoor and outdoor activities led by staff.

Ruth White, manager of the nursery, said “It was a wonderful day. The sun was shining and we had a lot of children who enjoyed themselves.

“We wanted parents to come in and see what we do and talk to us. We have been open for three years and are fully booked at the moment, but after summer children will be leaving us and going on to school. That’s when we will have new places available.”

Ruth moved to Coppull and a friend helped her get the pre-school.

“We felt there was a need in Coppull to have a nursery on this side of the village,” she said. “We also work closely with Coppull Parish Primary School and had 26 children last year move onto there.”
