Off-licence raided by robbers with knife

Armed robbers covering their faces with a Halloween mask and a scarf targeted a village off-licence.

Two men brandishing a knife went into Grape And Grain, on Victoria Street, Wheelton, at 7.15pm on Thursday.

They stole £80 from the till before leaving.

Police have launched an investigation into the robbery and are appealing for information to identify the men.

The man holding the knife was described as white, of slim build, around 6ft tall and in his mid 20s.

He was wearing light-coloured jogging pants, a dark hooded top and a Halloween mask.

He had some kind of kitchen knife.

The second man was white, of slim build and around 5ft 9ins tall.

He wore a dark hooded top, dark jogging bottoms, dark trainers with a white sole, black gloves and a scarf across his face. He was carrying a black JD bag.

Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call Lancashire Constabulary on 101, quoting reference number 1245 of October 22.
