It was pumpkins at the ready for hundreds of excited children as they got ready for Halloween.
Youngsters flocked to Park Hall in Charnock Richard for Sunday’s country fair and pumpkin patch, organised by the people behind the Chorley And District Carnival.
Children enjoyed carving pumpkins and making their own scarecrows.
They also took part in craft activities, dressed up for a Halloween fancy dress competition, enjoyed live entertainment and visited a fun fair.
Around 500 people attended and money raised will help to pay for next year’s carnival.
Bill Clarke, a carnival committee member, said: “This was the first event from the new Chorley Carnival committee and we are all pleased with how it went.
“We got a good attendance, the rain kept off and people said what a good day they had with their kids.”
