CBeebies’ Rhyme Rocket will be landing at Astley Park as part of a day of free activities.

Picnic In The Park returns on Sunday, July 5 for the seventh year.

The cast of the Rhyme Rocket will perform and young fans will be able to meet them.

There will be children’s entertainers, bands and singers, dance acts, face painters and balloon modellers.

The event, organised by Chorley Council with Rock FM, starts at noon and will also include sports, games, orienteering challenges, arts and crafts, dress-up and a chance to meet animals in Pets Corner.

And families can join a seven-mile bike ride, which sets off at 2pm. For more details and to book, visit goskyride.com/chorley.

Coun Peter Wilson, who is responsible for events for the council, said: “Picnic In The Park is always a fantastic event where people can come along with their family and friends to enjoy some brilliant entertainment in the beautiful surroundings of Astley Park.

“We’re excited that another CBeebies favourite will be coming to Chorley to entertain families on stage and then meet and greet people afterwards.

“Together with the sports activities, face painters, the Astley Hall pop-up experience and much more, it promises to be a brilliant afternoon in Astley Park.”
