A WEDDING ring and £1,000 were stolen from a Chinese takeaway.
Thieves raided the China Star on Cowling Brow, Chorley, on August 16, taking money from the shop and jewellery from the living accommodation upstairs.
Over £1,250 worth of rings and necklaces were taken during the burglary, which happened between 2.30pm and 4pm. A wedding ring with a Chinese name engraved inside, and a man’s gold ring, also with Chinese writing engraved, were taken, as well as a white gold necklace with a single diamond.
Michelle Lin, manager of the takeaway, said: “I don’t know why they’ve done it, but it makes me angry. Luckily, I wasn’t home at the time.”
The offenders gained entry through the back of the property, and police are now appealing for witnesses.
They wish to speak to two men who were seen at the scene.
Sgt Kevin Mountain said: “A male in his 40s was seen driving an old-style van with rust marks all over it, and his passenger was a male in his late teens.”
