A Chorley town centre trader has spoken of her anger after new road markings were put down in front of her shop.
Anne Wallbank, of Wallbank Jewellers, Market Street, claims the new ‘loading’ signs are hitting her business.
She says the new markings are close to parking bays that allow vehicles to park near shops for one hour.
She said: “Last week they painted white lines in front saying loading point on the road.
“It’s having an impact on our business. It’s directly outside the shop and other businesses down the road to the roundabout.
“People haven’t got a clue where they can or can’t park. Even though the parking restrictions are on small signs on the wall, people see the loading signs on both sides of the street.
“It’s absolutely crazy.”
“We’ve got three big parking bays on each side of the street all the way down to the Big Lamp.”
No one from Lancashire County Council was available for comment.
