Pupils from Lever House Primary School have buried a time capsule in the grounds of Jones Homes’ Farington Grange development, situated on Boardman Close off Centurion Way.

The Year 4 children planted the time capsule at the charming development as part of a summer school project, for which the eight and nine-year-olds researched the history of the area.

The burial of the time capsule at Farington Grange is also a fitting gesture for Jones Homes, marking the housebuilder’s first development in Leyland.

The children noted down their favourite memories of Farington, including items which they felt represent the school now and in the past, and education in 2013, and placed them in the time capsule, which will remain buried at the Farington Grange indefinitely.

Denise Caldwell, sales and marketing director at Jones Homes, said: “We are thrilled to have forged a partnership with Lever House Primary School, a school located just across road from Farington Grange.

“It was our pleasure to welcome Year 4 to Farington Grange to bury a time capsule, assisting the pupils with their school project. It is quite poignant that the children visited the development, placing their memories of the area and school life in the time capsule for future generations of children to discover.”

Mr Hurst, from Lever House Primary School, said: “The children were delighted to be able to bury the time capsule at Farington Grange as it added a really interactive element to our school project.

“Jones Homes kindly visited the school ahead of the excursion to Farington Grange to give a Health and Safety talk to the pupils, which was really informative and well received.”

Farington Grange is a development comprising two and three-bedroomed mews, and four-bedroomed detached homes.
