Work is due to start in the next few weeks on a new skate park in Adlington.
Jubilee Recreation Ground, owned and maintained by Chorley Council, will get a state-of-the-art skate park, which has been designed in consultation with young people.
It is expected to be open by the end of October and will include quarter-pipes, ledges, a jumpbox and a 180 degree rollover.
It is the first phase of improvements for the recreation ground and has been funded using section 106 money pledged by Bellway Homes following its development of Grove Farm in Adlington.
Coun Bev Murray, who has responsibility for parks and open spaces, said: “The new skate park will be a major improvement to facilities for young people in the area and is something they said they wanted to see in Adlington.
“We are starting the work shortly as we wanted to wait until after the Adlington Carnival and I look forward to seeing the skate park finished with people using it.”
