‘Thanks for saving my life’

WHEN Hazel Darlington fell victim to persistent crime in her neighbourhood it completely changed her life.

But, unlike most victims, the change wasn’t for the worst, but actually for the better.

The 48-year-old set up a Neighbourhood Watch scheme to combat the problems close to her home in Church Hill, Whittle-le-Woods and said tackling the issues has given her a whole new lease of life.

Now, Hazel, who works for Wood Fit Ltd, is set to thank the police officers who have helped her along the way by completing a charity walk to raise money for the Police Benevolent Fund.

She will set off from Chorley Police Station and walk to its Bamber Bridge counterpart and then on to Wheelton in a 14-mile challenge.
