There must be something in the ‘hair’ after three stylists at a Chorley salon had healthy baby girls in the same year.
The trio of hairdressers who work at Sala Hair which is based at Shaw Hill Hotel, Golf and Country Club in Whittle-le-Woods all celebrated their safe deliveries in 2010.
Two of the employees swapped their scissors and combs for nappies and babygros in July and the final baby girl was born on Christmas Eve.
The festive arrival of little Amelia was something of a surprise for mum Nikki Merry, as she wasn’t due to be born until the middle of February.
Despite bouncing into the world nearly six weeks prematurely, Amelia is the picture of health is a welcome sister for Amy.
In July, Leanne Berry gave birth to Ruby, a sibling for big sister Mya and Emma Summer had Poppy, a little sister for Lily.
Manager of Sala, Becky Hewitt, 26, said: “I think it’s something to do with the ages of the girls, it was just one of those things.
“It was quite tricky to have so many members of staff from a small team off at one time but the rest of the team worked overtime to make sure our customers didn’t notice anything was different.
“We employed a junior, Steph, from Runshaw College so it was a great opportunity to give someone else an opportunity.
“We also used casual staff and it was a great exercise in teamwork to keep the salon working while the mums took time away with their babies.”
Nikki, Leanne and Emma will all be returning to work part-time at the salon this year.
Becky added: “I don’t think there will be any more babies this year, but maybe there will be next year!”
