Olympic fever has gripped Chorley.
Thousands of people lined the streets to give the Olympic Torch a true Lancashire welcome as it made its first stop in the county.
It all kicked off on the A6 Bolton Road, outisde Albany Science College at around 7.20am.
But the early start didn’t deter revellers who set their alarms at the crack of dawn to witness the once-in-a-lifetime journey through Chorley town centre, Euxton, and out to Croston.
Chorley MP Lindsay Hoyle said community spirit in the town was at an all-time high.
He said: “This is the people’s Olympics and the people of Chorley have turned out and done us proud.”
