A celebration will be held in Chorley on Saturday to mark 70 years since VJ Day.

The Chorley branch of the Royal British Legion will hold a short service of remembrance at 6pm at the war memorial at Astley Park.

Afterwards, there will be an evening of fun and entertainment at St Mary’s Social Club, on Devonshire Road.

It will include a hot pot or curry supper.

Tickets for the evening event are free but they are limited. They are available from Timpsons, on Chapel Street, Chorley.

The celebration is dedicated to veterans from the Second World War and they do not need tickets.
