A woman has suffered serious head injuries after falling from a ladder while cutting trees.

The incident happened in the grounds of Croston Park Nursing Home, Town Road, Croston, on Monday.

The woman, who also suffered spinal injuries, was airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital.

Two ambulances, the North West Air Ambulance and a rapid response vehicle attended.

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said: “An ambulance was called at 11.31am.

“A lady fell off a ladder. She’s got serious head injuries and spinal injuries.

“She was transferred to Royal Preston Hospital by helicopter.”

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “We received a call at 12.04pm.

“A person has been cutting a tree and she’s fallen from a height. An ambulance was called.”

The nursing home declined to comment.
