A charity ‘Workout-athon’ will raise funds for Legacy Rainbow House on July 19 at Park Hall Plaza in Charnock Richard.
The Workout-athon promises four different exercise classes of fun, fitness training and fundraising, totalling three hours of aerobic and body combat between 10am and 1pm, including Zumba with Mata Stratakoi and Insanity with Andy Wilson. Children are also welcome to join the fun too.
“There’s going to be a real party atmosphere and everyone joining can choose to do as little or as much as they want to”Sonia Harris, community fund-raiser
Sonia Harris, community fund-raiser from the Rainbow House, said: “This is the first time we have organised an event like this.
“There’s going to be a real party atmosphere and everyone joining can choose to do as little or as much as they want to.
“It’s a chance for supporters to make every move count for local children with disabilities.
“We have to raise £720,000 each year and we are hoping this event will help us towards this target.
“All the funds raised on the day will go towards continuing our services.”
Andy Wilson, who is an Insanity instructor and also a lifestyle and fitness outreach support worker with children, said: “Insanity is a maximum intensity workout which pushes your body to the limits and burns more calories than most workouts.
“It works all parts of your body and improves core strength, agility and balance.”
He added: “I am always keen to support children’s charities, and especially local ones.
“I have visited the Legacy and the staff there are brilliant. What they achieve with the children is truly amazing.”
Entry for the Workout-athon is £5 in advance and £7 on the door.
