A welcome return to Chorley awaits X-Factor finalist and ex-soldier Jonjo Kerr, who will perform at Chorley Little Theatre with his new band The Kerr’Takers on Saturday, March 22.
Jonjo’s last performance in his home town was at last year’s Chorley Live, when he headlined the Saturday evening at Chorley Town Hall to a packed house.
Since then, Jonjo And The Kerr’Takers have been performing across the UK as well as writing songs for an album.
Three singles have been plucked out for chart release, with negotiations underway with a major record label.
The video to one of the band’s upcoming singles will be shot at White Bear Studios and live footage will be filmed at Chorley Little Theatre.
Jonjo said: “We are so looking forward to the Chorley show, as the people of Chorley have supported me since my X-Factor days, and with my new band the live show has surpassed all my expectations.
“Our last gig in Burnley was a sell-out, with people bring turned away at the door, so I really hope we get a good house at Chorley Little Theatre as the venue has a bigger capacity so hopefully nobody will be disappointed.”
As for the show, Jonjo said: “Be prepared for a fast paced, energetic performance including a range of recent chart hits, classic dance-floor fillers and original material, and whilst the theatre is a seated venue, there will be plenty opportunity for the audience to get up close and make some noise.”
Jonjo will not be the only familiar face to take to the stage.
Neil Aspinall, Jonjo’s permanent drummer, said: “We believe it is important to use local talent from the area we are performing in and Chorley Little Theatre is no exception. In fact we have three support acts all from the area including Balshaw’s High School battle of the bands winners Silver Fix, Holy Cross High School band The Commoners and local band Fellstone.”
Tickets for the show cost £10 and are available from Malcolm’s Musicland, on Chapel St, Chorley, and the theatre’s box office on 01257 264632.
