A Chorley footballer says he's determined to get his career back on track after being released from his contract at Morecambe FC.
Simon Grand, 24, has been involved in a series of trial matches after being released in July from the League Two club.
The Eaves Green footballer has joined Conference side Northwich Victoria determined to help them off bottom spot and has eyed a return to the football league.
The former Southlands High School pupil said: "I am looking forward to getting back into football with a job and permanent place in a team after three trial matches.
"There is a good squad at Northwich and I am confident we can start picking up points to get out of the relegation danger.
"In the past I have got promotion from the Conference with Carlisle United so I think I have the experience to help Northwich Victoria."
The central defender who played for the England non-league team two seasons ago admits he has great memories playing football.
He said: "I have played with players such as (Preston North End's) Karl Hawley and (West Ham's) Dean Ashton in the past and they have made the most of their chances and are now playing for bigger teams.
"I have also played in the Johnson's Paint Trophy Final at the Millennium Stadium and I want to continue do it again.
"As a footballer you want to be playing at the highest level and experience those big matches and I hope I can do that with Victoria."
