The talented 18-year-old has been one of the leading lights at Windsor Park but faces six weeks on the sidelines after injuring himself while celebrating in Leeds following a win at cricket.

He explained: "I was out with some university friends and we went to a pub which has one of these punchbag machines that you hit to try and get a good score.

"I punched it, got a very high score, but clearly punched it too hard.
"The following day my wrist was really stiff and I couldn't move it.

"I couldn't grip a bat properly.""

The teenager went to the hospital and had an x-ray - when his worst fears were confirmed when it revealed a fracture in a bone in his wrist.

"They put a cast on but I'm very disappointed," he said. "Chorley have been doing well in the league and I'd just got a couple of 50s.

"The positive part is that the Lancashire U19 games don't start until the middle of August. I'm hoping to be back playing again by the middle of July but will need some physio first when the cast comes off.

"One thing that I do know is that I won't be going on one of those punchbag machines again!"

After a slow start to the season, Josh's form was on the up at the time of the freak injury and he'd scored 203 runs at an average of just over 33.

During his enforced absence there's still been a Tolley at the top of the Chorley order - his elder brother Sam.
