Warrington IMBRL 14
Adlington Rangers 34
This was a good match with both sides testing each other out in the first 20 minutes, but the visitors managed to get their noses in front first.

Rangers were the first to score after a good run by forward John Iddon, followed by some good passing
in the backs, which gave centre Michael Taylor the perfect chance to cross the line, but no goal was added.

Warrington hit back with a try of their own and scored again after following up a kick ahead to take a 10-4 lead.

Rangers started to find their feet and played some good open rugby, the forwards were running hard and pressurising the warrington defence.

They scored again when wingman Lee Speakman went over for a try and Martin Hill added the goal, and just before half-time Speakman crashed over the line again to give Rangers a 14-10 lead.

In the second-half, it was all Rangers, with the home side's forwards tiring in the heat.

Rangers were passing the ball out quickly and Taylor was put through to score his second.

Forwards Lee Murray, Mike Fernay and Steve Waddington showed up well, with Waddington scattering the defence with his pace on the ball and notching up two further tries for Rangers.

Forward Gary Prescott scored one, with wingman Simon Hurst and Richard Wareing adding one apiece.

Fullback Gareth McCloughlin put in a great defensive stint to keep a clean sheet in the second -half and to take the man of the match award.
