Chorley's star batsman Josh Tolley has spoken of his relief at posting his first Northern League hundred.
The teenager has hit eight league half centuries this season but Saturday's knock of 101 at Barrow was the first time he'd reached three figures.

It brought his tally to 703 league runs this season and took his average beyond the 50 mark.

The youngster said: "It was very important and I've been desperate to get three figures in the Northern League.

"It's been 50 or ducks this season. I've made a concerted effort to get a hundred and when I reached 70 on Saturday I was determined to keep going.

"Hopefully this is the first of many."

Tolley, who starts at university in Sheffield this year, has been in talks with Warwickshire over his future and has played representative cricket for Lancashire this season.

He said: "I'm hoping to get in the Lancashire Academy but I don't know what's going to happen."
