Chorley won this end-of-season game in a match that had far more on the result for the visitors than Tony Hesketh's men.
The Magpies ran out 2-1 winners with two excellent goals from Mark Drew and Dave German and consigned Bridlington to relegation.

Both sides went close early on before Drew broke the deadlock after 14 minutes.

A corner found its way to the hard-working midfielder and his well-placed shot from 25 yards found the corner of the net.

Bridlington pressed forward for the win that would have secured their future but German left them a mountain to climb with his excellent strike from 30 yards after 59 minutes, which made it 2-0.

The visitors' fortunes went from bad to worse when Sam Dixie saw red for a bad challenge on Drew.

Ironically Bridlington then enjoyed their best spell of the game and pulled a goal back through a header from captain Carl Giblin.

Chorley – Collinge, Clark, German, Fletcher (Mullineux), Coyne, Drew (Taylor), Burke, Ellison, Farrell (Nolan), Eckersley, Goodeve.
Attendance - 244
