A goalkeeper from Chorley has set his sights on Europe in 2010 after joining Welsh Premier League champions Rhyl.
Jack Cudworth, 19, was released by Championship giants Preston North End last summer and after a series of trials he joined Welsh side Welshpool.
After three months at the club, the former Southlands High School pupil earned rave reviews during hi
s displays with the strugglers.
Cudworth, who still lives in Chorley, was lured by the current Welsh champions Rhyl and he rejected several moves closer to home to Football League clubs.
Cudworth said: "I played every match this season for Welshpool and it was great to get regular first-team football in a competitive environment.
"I think it will help with my development but Peterborough United were also chasing me.
"I went over there and was due to sign this month but have heard nothing since Darren Ferguson was sacked.
"League Two side Morecambe were also interested but they could only offer me a chance as their number two goalkeeper.
"I didn't really want that and when I heard that Rhyl were interested I was happy to join them.
"We are third in our league and if we have a good end to the season we could be in the running for a place in the Champions' League next year.
"That was one of the main attractions about Rhyl as I can remember one of the other Welsh sides, TNS, played Liverpool a few seasons ago."
Cudworth made his debut for Rhyl on Saturday in their 1-1 draw with Prestatyn but the shot-stopper was disappointed not to open his account with a clean-sheet.
