Chorley FC boss Tony Hesketh has urged fans to be patient over the summer as he starts to build a team ready for a play-off challenge in 2008/09.
After helping Chorley to remain in the league by getting 23 points, Hesketh will be expecting even more from his team next term.

Hesketh said: "I have invited all the players back next season but I have told them what is expected of them and that they have to take responsibility if they want to be part of the team.

"I am looking forward to next season and of course there is an element of rebuilding.

"The core nucleus of the team is good enough to reach the play-offs."
The Chorley boss has had a few players contacting him about joining the club but he will not be rushed into making any rash decisions.

He said: "Money is the key thing and it is a waiting game to secure new players. We have to be patient and make sure they are right for the club.

"I have 25 years of experience at that and it has put me in a good position."

Rumours have been circulating around the terraces about Peter Collinge's availability next season but Hesketh said: "He has been offered a new contract for next season but I have said I want competition for places in the team and the goalkeeper is one of those specialist positions I want to sort quickly."
