Talented Chorley-based cricketer Luis Reece has apologised for his reaction to a recent dismissal that saw him land a three-match ban, two of which were suspended.
The 17-year-old, who lives in Clayton-le-Woods, showed dissent in a Twenty20 game for his club team Blackpool against Barrow.

The allrounder was given caught behind by Chorley umpire Colin Dawber when he thought it had come off his elbow.

Officials at Blackpool were unimpressed and he was suspended for Sunday's top-of-the-table clash with Kendal.

Reece said he deeply regretted the incident but was determined to learn from the experience.

"I should have accepted the decision and it wasn't a good example to the kids who were watching," he said.

"I've written three letters of apology. The umpire in question (Colin Dawber) is one of the best in the league and somebody that I really respect." added Reece who has played for Lancashire's second X1 this season.
