Youngsters in Chorley have proved they're hooked on fishing.
With the support of Chorley Borough Council, Yarrow Valley Country Park has played host to the Wigan and District Angling Association annual competition.

The biggest fish of the tournament was caught by 12-year-old Joshua Briggs who landed a 3lb 5oz fish.

The competition was split in two with dozens of entrants. The over 12s used the park's Big Lodge and the under 12s fished in the Small Lodge.

The over 12s winner was Jack Iddon, 14, of Coppull, and the Under 12s event was won by nine-year-old Jack Hodges, of Coppull.

Prizes were donated by Coppull Anglers, Chorley Council and Wigan and District Angling Association.

Results: Under 12s: 1 - Jack Hodges; 2 - Jonathan Yates; 3 - James Murray.

Over 12s: 1 - Jack Iddon; 2 - Joshua Briggs.

David Worthington Memorial Trophy: Awarded for the biggest fish caught during the competition Joshua Briggs with 3lb 5 oz.
