A Hoghton swimmer was putting the disappointment of missing out on the European Juniors squad behind him, by making a splash at the UK School Games in Bath.
Joshua Walsh from the Gallica Swimming Club celebrated his 17th birthday in style when he represented the North West squad at the games.

Last year the Runshaw College pupil returned from the same tournament with the silver in the 100m freestyle and a gold in the 200m freestyle and setting a personal best in the process.

Joshua qualified for the games after being one of the fastest 200m and 400m swimmers during the year and he has set his sights on the British Championships next March.
