Chorley got their outside play-offs hopes back on track with an excellent 2-0 win against Leigh Genesis.
Leigh are above the Magpies in the league but you wouldn't have known on this performance.
The visitors put in an improved showing than their inept display at local rivals Bamber Bridge on Tuesday.
Steve Waywell's team never gave Leigh Genesis any room and could have scored more than the two goals they did get.
Stuart Howson, who is starting to show his class in the heart of Chorley's defence, opened the scoring after 27 minutes.
Chorley stepped on the gas in the second period and should have put the game out of reach before Chris Amadi found his scoring touch with a second after 62 minutes.
The Magpies take on Rossendale on Tuesday knowing that a fifth win in six matches would keep them in touch with the top of the table.
