Chorley WBU Welterweight Champion Michael Jennings continues to trawl the internet looking for updates on who and when he will be fighting for a shot at the WBO title.
Reports across the Atlantic Ocean indicate that the Chorley Lurcher is the mandatory challenger for the belt against WBO Welterweight champion Paul Williams and the fight could be in November.

But Jennings admits he can't wait to get confirmation of his opponent and a date for his next bout.

He said: "I have been reading these stories and that is all I know at the minute because it is an American thing and it is in their hands.

"It is frustrating - as if I had have known I wasn't fighting earlier I could have got on the MEN Arena bill with Amir Khan on September 6.

"It would have been good to have had a fight to keep ticking over but I will just have to train hard."

The 30-year-old boxer is keen to have a shot against Williams and is full of confidence.

He said: "Williams is a top fighter and is tall which means he has more of a reach which he will use to his advantage.

"He is also a Southpaw fighter which means they lead with the other hand but I am not worried about that because I have won against many in my professional and amateur career."

One date Jennings has confirmed in his diary is October 4 when he joins seven other professionals and celebrities such as Happy Mondays star Bez in the ring to face a Middleton joiner Robert Turner.

Turner is raising money from the fight after his 39-year-old sister Paula was diagnosed with a brain turmour this year.

Jennings said: "It's a great cause and he has been coming to the gym regularly. When he asked me to do it I was happy to help as this sort of thing makes you feel good."
