Hindley scattered the visiting defence to go six points up early on and then doubled the score minutes later.
Rangers got their act together and, with John Barker and Carl Parker back from injury, the team slowly turned the tables.
A good break
from Neil Prescott was followed on for Paul Cookson to charge over for a try - goaled by Richard Wareing.
In the second half it was all Rangers, with some good defensive work from the young backs Lee Speakman and Ryan Fitton.
Another good break by centre Mike Ferney was carried on by the half-backs, and Neil Prescott brushed off a couple of would-be tacklers to score. Wareing added the kick to level the scores.
Rangers were passing the ball about well and again Cookson dashed through a gap to score.
Wareing added the conversion and then a penalty for a 20-12 lead.
Paul Dootson took the next score - some good passing work sending him through at the corner.
On target Wareing curled the kick from the sidelines for the conversion and added a second penalty kick.
Some rough tactics saw Hindley go through for a score, but Carl Parker capped the scoring with a drop-goal to confirm a 29-18 win.
