Youngsters from across the area were introduced to the basic skills of cricket in a special event held at Chorley Cricket Club.
Coach Nathan Cookson provided five local schools with a total of 10 hours of coaching at the 'Club School Cluster Competition' at Windsor Park.

The event was organised to try and bring the schools and club together at the end of a five-week coaching course run in the schools, as well as giving children the opportunity to be involved in the sport.

Supermarket giant Sainsbury's supplied the youngsters with free water and fruit on the day.

The five primary schools taking part were: Euxton St Mary's, Euxton CE, Balshaw Lane, Buckshaw, and Gillibrand.

Nathan said: "It was a great day for all the children and coaches taking part."

Congratulations to the winning school – Euxton CE Primary school, who were able to beat Balshaw Lane in a very close run chasing final game.
Cricket courses are being run in August.

For more information call Nathan Cookson on 01254 853796 or 07733258180.
