A Chorley rugby star who suffered the agony of breaking his leg in two places and tore his medial ligaments has just been boosted after a benefit gig by some of his team-mates.
Mike Nicholl suffered the horrific injury seven weeks ago when he was playing for the Wigan St Patrick's U18 team.

If things were not bad enough that he got injured on his debut, he now faces being off work for around six months.

The 18-year-old was surprised when two of his team-mates planned a gig at the club and all proceeds went to the fallen prop forward.

Mike said: "It was straight out of the blue, I have only trained with the lads a couple of times so I didn't expect anything like this."
