Anxious wait for defender Kieran
A Coppull-based professional footballer faces an anxious wait to discover what the future holds with championship new boys Peterborough United.
Defender Kieran Charnock has just returned from a relaxing holiday in
Kos and is determined to fight for a place at Darren Ferguson's giants.
The 24-year-old said: "I am expecting to go back to Peterborough for
pre-season as I have still one year left on my contract.
It is going to be difficult to get a move as Peterborough want money for me and, as you know, clubs do not have lots of it to spend.
I think I will have to bide my time there as there are several other names on the transfer list.
"Peterborough are looking for money to improve their squad for the
championship.
I have played at that level – and higher – before and I think I have what it takes to play here but you never know – a few injuries could
mean I earn a recall."
Charnock will start pre-season training on July 1 and Kieran hopes
to rediscover his form from last season when on-loan at Accrington Stanley.
