Chorley 3 Garforth Town 1

Chorley celebrated their third successive win on Saturday - although their last victory was as long ago as December 12.

The wintry weather has meant the Magpies have been without a game for six weeks.

Previous wins against Harrogate Railway Athletic (2-0) and Ossett Albion (3-2) sparked hopes of a play-off push but the sub-zero temperatures meant that had to wait for their third consecutive victory.

Saturday's win saw Chorley leapfrog local rivals Bamber Bridge and rise to ninth place in the league.

Watched by a modest crowd of 211, all of the home team's goals came in a four-minute spell either side of half-time.

The visitors are struggling this season but took the lead after 27 minutes through Tom Greaves.

Chorley didn't panic and Alex Porter brought them level after 44 minutes from the penalty spot.

The cheers had hardly subsided when Steve Burke made it 2-1 after 45 minutes.

Garforth didn't know what hit them and Chris Mason made it 3-1 after 47 minutes to secure all three points.
