Chorley 3 Kendal Town 2
Chorley's final pre-season friendly game ended with their third successive win against higher league opposition .
Following on from the victories over Colwyn Bay and Hyde FC of the Evo-Stik Premier and Blue Square North respectively, Kendal Town, from the same league as Bay, arrived at Victory Park under the guidance of ex-Magpie Lee Ashcroft with a virtually full strength side.
Garry Flitcroft's squad was reduced with the absence of honeymooning Jamie Vermiglio and the injured duo of Alex Porter and Alex Russell.
Chorley controlled possession from the kick-off and opened the scoring on eight minutes when Mark Houghton converted a Jack Dorney cross.
Kendal started to drag themselves back into the game and equalised with a header at the back stick by Carl Osman, brother of Everton star Leon.
At the restart Steve Burke replaced Jordan Stepien and soon after Jack Dorney made way for Shelton Payne.
More changes came with Nathan Fairhurst and Matt Jansen replacing Mark Houghton who had picked up a knock and Dale Whitham.
Kendal had their chances to take the lead with one chance ruled narrowly off-side and then Aaron Grundy pulled of an excellent block save near the post.
They were left to rue these misses as Burke slotted home via the underside of the keeper following another attacked created by Payne, but minutes later is was all square again when Kieran Walmsley converted a penalty.
For the second game running the game was won in the final minute, this time a Tom Ince shot was hand balled off the line and Payne was on hand to convert the spot-kick
