Chorley earn draw with Garforth Town

UniBond First Division North Chorley 1 Garforth Town 1

CHORLEY'S league woes continue as they came from behind to get a share of the spoils at Victory Park.

Despite progressing to the FA Cup Third Round qualifiers and the first round of the FA Trophy, the league still is a cause for concern for Steve Waywell's side.

The result was Chorley's fifth draw of the season but Waywell will be keen for his side to reverse their fortunes and rise up the league.

A mistake in the Chorley defence on 18 minutes let forward Chris Ovington in for the opening goal of the game.

The home side continued to pour forward looking for an equaliser before half-time and they failed to find the all-important through ball to score.

Early in the second half new signing Jamie Vermiglio scored his first goal back in Chorley colours on 51 minutes.

Chorley searched for a winner and the Magpies supporters would have been thinking that it would have been made easier when one of the

Garforth players was sent-off for an altercation with Fearns.

But the ball would not go in for Chorley as they hit the post a couple of times and the bar from a free-kick.

The supporters were brought to their feet when the ball was put in the net but it was ruled out for off-side.

Despite introducing Josh Kenworthy the equation, a winner failed to materialize as Chorley earned a draw.

Chorley: Hibbert, Rogers, Smalley, Maden, Pendlebury, Vermiglio, Kozlowski, Rothwell, Fearns, Amadi, Nolan. Subs, Kenworthy, Kelly, Daniels, Barrett
